What kind of tree is this?

I found a tree with a spike ball on it and in the ball it has nuts in it. The nuts look like a hazel nut. But i looked up a hazelnut tree and the tree looks nothing like this tree that i found. The tree is like 50 feet tall and it has a leaf that looks like a fig tree leaf. The nuts are about the size of a golf ball some a little bigger and some smaller.
