My ex wants to go to prom with me... what should I do?

Ok, so my 17 yr old ex-boyfriend wants to go to prom with me, as a date. The whole reason we broke up was because his mom said he was too old for me. I still kind of like him, but I don't want to go through the same heartache i went through when he broke up with me. What should I do?
